Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On Monday, I went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a wander round with Raffles and Stamford and my peeps. It is a very big park and busy with parties of school children learning about the exhibits and the artists who made them. There are some HUGE sculptures there and some pretty scary ones too!

This is me by a colourful Buddha statue :-)

But these were too scary to get close too! They are like Dementors from the Harry Potter stories

And then this very strange big rabbit headed creature BOL

And, talking of heads - look at these! There was a big circle of sculpted bronze heads of each of the animals in the Chinese zodiac. Wow some of these were scary too!

The snake.

The tiger.

The dragon.

And then we came to this field of strange men like creatures all looking the same.

We posed for a photo and tried to ignore the strange men.

It was a very hot day and as you can see little Stamford was beginning to get tired BOL so we had a break for the peeps to have some coffee and we could have a rest in the shade under the table.

And just as well we were under the table because right by the café was a huge rhino!

This little robin did not seem at all worried though when he came down looking for crumbs

Anyway there was just time to check out a few more sculptures before going home.

.

Posing on a Henry Moore sculpture :-)

And then it was back to the car and the journey home but I would love to come back another day to see more sculptures in the park.

  1. What a lot of STRANGE sculptures. We think you are VERY brave. SHE once tried to take a photo of us near a rhino statue and we weren't having any of that!
